Trip to Rivendell (Lord of the Rings)

Our April outing with the other senior couples here on the southern portion of the North Island was to visit Rivendell from Lord of the Rings.  If you didn't know that's where you were, you'd never guess.  It was a beautiful area and the pictures below depict the 1 hour trek around area.

Here we all are...McVey's, Chesley's (California),
Shepherds (Utah), Overton's (Utah) and Brazzeal's (Utah).


Here we are at the Rivendell Park.  Again, could have fooled me because it has no resemblance to what I remember seeing in the movies.


I wonder if there's any fish down there in that clear water?


Little kids must toss rocks whenever they get around the water and senior missionaries are no different!


Male mallards are exactly the same, here and back in the States!


What follows will be just an assortment of the photo's we took on the trek without comment!













We finished the afternoon off with a nice Mexican dinner back in Hutt.  An appetiser plate of chips and salsa...$10 for about 10 chips!
