Kim & Sterling Wotherspoon
made their acquaintance the first week here

Here we are in Alison Ankers art studio.  She's a member of the YSA but sadly moving to Invercargill in a few weeks.  She's a gifted artist and the two Tui pictures on the wall we done for us.

Here's a few new friends that we met the past few months.

We got to meet with Guy's parents and they along with the Bishop and his wife came over for dinner.  Guy is going on a mission to Portugal and we wanted to introduce his parents to what they should expect with a son on a mission.  His parents are not members.  We had a great evening!

Birthe is from Germany and doing her doctorate at Victoria.

Douglas is from Samoa but has lived here a number of years!  He's a great cook!

Here's some of the primary children eying some yummy food

Here's more of the primary children

Here are four of the great young men in the Wellington Ward.  We count them as friends!

Shelley and Karl live here in Wellington and have just come back into activity.  We've had them to dinner and got them a new set of scriptures a couple weeks ago.  They had none to read from.

Our March Senior Dinner (some photos appear in "Missionary Happenings") was held at "Fisherman's Table" near Paraparaumu on the west coast.  The dinner was great and the sunset was outstanding!

Here's the Brazzeals serving as the office couple

Here's the Hirshi's serving in New Plymouth

Here's the McVey's...you know them, serving in The Archives New Zealand in Wellington

Here's the Overton's serving with us in The Archives New Zealand in Wellington

Here's the Patchett's (headed home) and the Chesley's.  They serve in Levin and Upper Hutt respectively
Wrapping it up is the Shepherd's serving in Featherston & Masterton

This is Mario.  He's a new member and friend of ours.  He comes from very humble beginnings and is learning a ton!

Everything below this line was posted prior to 2012
====================================================================

We've met more people than we can detail here!  We've include a few special activities here:

Mario Kennach is one of our favorite friends here in Wellington.  We'll miss him as he's accepted a mission call to Brisbane, Australia and reported to the MTC on December 29th.  We'll miss him as our YSA leader but more so as a friend.  He's welcome to come ride the "horses at Highlands Ranch" any time he wants!

We've created a dinner group for senior missionaries and we get together monthly.  From me back you've got the Brazzeals, Patchetts, Overtons and then Ann.  This is really fun for all of us.  I had venison stake that was fabulous!

We're working with these single sisters to start a regular dinner group at our flat on the first Sunday of each month.  Here left to right you have Joanne, Heather, Tara and Melissa.

Over the course of the next 23 months we expect to meet and make a plethora of new friends. On this page of our blog we'd like to share our new found friends with each of you.

Danny Chin from Hong Kong.  He's responsible for Family Search across all of Asia and the South Pacific.  Reads a ton and like military aircraft.  He's really in tune with the technical side of digitising.

Mike Higgins from Auchland.  He's our direct supervisor in the Family Search department.  He negotiates deals with archives to film their records.  He's also a Stake President in the Auchland area.

Don & Kathy Overton from St. George, Ut via Lancaster, CA.  We'll be working with them the next 18 months at the Archive.  A real fun couple ready to get into the work.

While on a service project in Wellington we met the mayor, Celia Wade-Brown (next to Tom).  This was taken at Wellington City Hall with Eileen Mueller and her daughter Mia while taking photos for a project sending books to Fiji.

Sterling Wotherspoon.  He's LDS and owns "The Garage" in downtown Wellington.  The first Saturday here he helped get our car started.  A great personality and we think the world of him.  Go to this link and see his video http://mormon.org/me/4MH5/Sterling/
It's worth the visit.

Here's Roy and Lorraine Ditchburn from Wellington, New Zealand.  They have served with Sister Pulu and Sister VanCleave since the start of this project.  Roy, Lorraine and Lupe trained us here at the Archives.  Without their great help, we could not do the work.  GREAT PIONEERS in their own right.  Did I say Lorraine's a great cook.

This is sister Lupe Pulu.  She's Tongian from West Jordan, UT.  She's been working at the Archives since about March/April 2010.  She keeps us in cookies and laughter.

Sarah McClintock from Wellington, NZ.  Sarah works at The Archive in Wellington as a project manager and is our #1 contact for questions and she brings us the records to digitize every day.  She's leaving the 9th of September.

Shirl & Frances Finch from Orem, Utah.  We met them in the MTC and they are headed to the Roseville, CA mission as "Member, Leadership Support" missionaries.  This is their first mission away from home.  They have served a service mission to "DI" in Orem.

Jack & Bonnie Herron from South Jordan, UT.  They are headed to the LDS Visitors Center at Independence, MO.  There they will be tour and information missionaries.  This is their 5th mission.

Seldon & Sharon Larsen from Edmonton, OK and headed to the Ohio, Columbus mission to serve in the mission office.  This is their first mission.
