Inner Islander Wellington to the South Island

The last few days of November we made a trip with Paul, Mollie and Lilah on the Inner Islander Ferry.  It's a 3-hour trip Wellington to Picton.  You can see the path on the map below.


Out and away from Wellington


Past the Pencarrow Head lighthouse that we hiked to months ago


Here we are in the Cook Strait passing one of the other two Inner Islander Ferry's


There's the South Island about 20km away...a mere 12 miles but 3 hours by way of the ferry


Then we entered the inlets of the northern South Island








The final destination is Picton below
