Well, the word got out that I was some Boy Scouter so the young men asked me to do a monthly activity with them. Then before I knew it, the young women wanted to join. What do you do with 15 youth ages 12 to 18...you cook tin foil (silver turtles) dinner at a fire on the beach. So that's what we did. They had a great time. When I told them we were having Silver Turtles, they actually thought we were cooking real turtles!
Here we are preparing the dinners
Everyone really took ownership here
Chelsea even got in on the action
Vanessa with complete Silver Turtle
Jan the master...Dad from Switzerland, Mum a Kiwi
Here's what 25+ foil dinners look like on a bed of coals
We had to have something to do while the dinners cooked so we had fire instruction and then a string burning contest. Everyone really had a lot of fun! They got 2+ matches.
If you think the above fire is going to work, you're crazy and not a scouter!
I think these guys knew what they were doing!
"Are the dinners ready?" - typical boys!
This looks pretty promising!
This might be the winner!
Get down there and blow!
This is what we're talking about
And the winners are!
Heck no, take a look at this dinner! Fantastic! Brilliant! Wonderful!
What do you think? Did she like it?
The smiles tell the true store!
Then after the dinner the "Scoutmasters Minute" - A story using two real US dollar bills and the worth of each one of them...that's the young men & women, not the dollars!
A scoutmasters work is never done
Below is what was going on around us!
Great pictures and amazing missionaries!! You are touching SOOOOO many lives for the positive. Great job!
