Rotorua

One of the more famous tourists towns in all of New Zealand is Rotorua.  There are hot pools, lakes, Maori Lore and heaps to do!  It's sort of like a "Lake Tahoe" of New Zealand.  We stayed only 2 days, could have been a week for sure!

Again rain, but this is the site of the original "Bath House"

We visited the Tamaki Maori Village.  Quite the experience.  We were greeted by this character right out of the 1800's!  He was about 6'3" tall, 240lbs and you didn't mess with him!

This warrior came out to test our strength and see our courage

You can see him stoop down to do the traditional greeting

The real high light was the 1-hour traditional Maori presentation including the Haka and other songs!

The traditional Maori Hangi...chickens, pig & goat

These two scarry people tried to stop us as we left...no worries!
